Xfinity Large Button Remote

The Challenge: Accessibility is something that is near and dear to the heart of many. Comcast wanted to make sure every experience with their products was easy to use. They looked to the ID and packaging team to find a way to update an accessibility remote but making sure half an equal partnership between form and function.

The Solution: While the ID team was working to create a product design that would be more accessible, with larger buttons and a strap for easy wear, I led the packaging team in creating a package and guide system. The package features many features to provide the user haptic feedback; larger font, embossed braille, and embossed symbols. I utilized my past experience in innovation, to create the first-ever audio-based user guide. Gives the power back to the individual with haptic feedback alerting setup finished.

Designing with you in mind

The inclusive packaging for the Large Button Voice Remote uses large typography and tactile features, including braille and an embossed arrow near the package’s opening. This orients the user as unboxing. The remote comes with an audio guide that automatically begins playing step-by-step instructions upon opening—an industry-first.
